    Buchanan/Morpeth, NSW
    3 December 2001

During the afternoon on this day, a number of multicell thunderstorms broke out in the Lower Hunter. Up to 4-6 cm hail was reported at some locations including Jilliby (near Wyong) and towards Dungog. The photos below were taken of two separate multicell storms. The photos that were taken at around 3pm capture a storm cell which developed in the Cessnock vicinity and traveled towards Maitland before it dissipated. The later photos shows the southeast side of a major multicell which extended from Clarence Town to Singleton.
